REAL WEDDING: SUZANNE & MIKE
Suzanne and Mike met in college and dated for thirteen years before tying the knot near their college town in New Paltz. “Since we were together for so many years before getting married, we thought it was only appropriate to make our signature slogan, ‘Slow and Steady’ with a turtle for a mascot!” says Suzanne. The bride and groom used this adorable idea to decorate the invites, save-the-date cards, and table numbers.
All of the fun details of their reception at the Minnewaska Lodge—blue glass jars, s’mores, daisies, and watering can place settings that doubled as favors—called to mind Suzanne and Mike’s motto of enjoying the journey as well as the destination. We love Suzanne and Mike’s stunning color scheme of brown, green and blue with deep purple and yellow. Steven Bruce Design complimented these rich colors by creating amazing floral arrangements filled with lively yellows. The bride and groom’s first look, evening celebration, and all their favorite moments in between are illustrated beautifully thanks to the photographers at Gallery 9 North.
Suzanne & Mike’s tips:
1. Try to enjoy the planning involved. It’s just as important as enjoying the wedding day itself.
2. Get as much done as you can before the week of the wedding so you have time to sit back and enjoy the days leading in!
