Chantiza Stern fell into the wedding business after motherhood interrupted her fashion-merchandising career. Stern's friend, Ellie Silverberg, owned a bustling linen rental company in Rochester and needed help. Stern was looking for something to do and signed on to help her pal. It was immediately obvious that Stern had a passion for the business - her artistic background and fabric knowledge made her a natural for helping couples put together linens to suit their wedding style. After two years, Stern bought her friend's business and launched an aggressive growth plan.

Now, Table Toppers of Rochester has expanded to include event planning as well as rentals, a natural progression since Stern's longtime relationship with local vendors and her experience sweating the details for couples in pursuit of perfection have equipped her well for the task of planning high-end weddings. Stern travels the globe, bringing back innovative ideas from South America, Europe, and the Far East to enliven her upstate weddings.
